About Us

In order to reduce the number of cats and kittens brought into the animal shelters in Antioch, Martinez, and Pinole, a non-profit low-cost spay and neuter organization has been formed. Modeled after the very successful Fix Our Ferals program (www.fixourferals.org), SNIP evolved from a collaboration formed in 2006 between five animal welfare organizations and Contra Costa County Animal Services Department (CCCASD). To date, over 3,000 cats have been admitted to SNIP clinics.

SNIP veterinary director is Dr. Michael Barlia. He works closely with the Director of Veterinary Medicine,CCCASD.

Thanks to the generous donation of the use of their facility, the clinics will again be held at Contra Costa County Animal Services Department Low-Cost Spay/Neuter Clinic in Martinez.
